Before Your Appointment
We're so excited to meet you and your sweet baby! Following these recommendations will help us capture the best possible ultrasound images during your visit.
Stay Hydrated
Hydration is one of the most important factors in obtaining clear ultrasound images.
- Drink 80–100 ounces of water daily for 5–7 days before your appointment.
- If you are a soda or coffee drinker, please add in extra hydration to counterbalance caffeine intake!
- You do not need to drink all of your water immediately before your appointment. Consistent hydration over several days provides the best results.
Before You Arrive
We recommend only having a light snack before your appointment or a smoothie. Smoothies really get babies going most of the time and tend to not put them to sleep with a full meal.
You may also have something with a little sugar or caffeine about 10-15 minutes before your appointment.
Arrival Time
Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your appointment time. Make sure your forms are completed that are sent to you with your confirmation email so we do not have to complete that once you arrive. We do not have enough seating for early arrivals so please refrain from showing up more than 10 minutes early. If you have a large party (yay!), please check in at the front desk and have everyone wait in the main front lobby.
Bringing Guests
We love sharing this special experience with your family!
- Family and friends are welcome.
- Children are welcome but must remain supervised by another adult at all times.
- Please make sure no food or drinks are being brought in.
If Your Baby Is Being Shy
Sometimes babies decide it's nap time!
Image quality depends on several factors, including:
- Baby's position
- Gestational age
- Placenta location
- Amniotic fluid
- Maternal body type
If your baby isn't showing their face or we cannot obtain the images included with your package due to positioning, we'll explain our rescan policy before you leave.

Sweet Baby Imaging provides elective, non-diagnostic ultrasounds intended for bonding and keepsake purposes.
Our services:
- Do not replace prenatal medical care.
- Are not intended to diagnose or rule out medical conditions.
- Require that you are under the care of a licensed healthcare provider.
Need to Reschedule?
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you and offer your appointment time to another family. We do require 24 hours notice to reschedule so please note the $25 booking deposit will be forfeited if you are to cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours in advance.
